Also I'm very pleased to announce that I'm working on a card for the 78 Tarot Project. My card is "The Star" and It will be printed in this fabulous Tarot Deck among all these talented artists. It will be fantastic and I'm so excited for the release of the deck. I will post more info about the kickstarter project and everything else very soon.

Last, but not least, I'm having an early "spring "sale. So I decided to list an Ebay auction for a kitty artwork for less than half the retail price. Here's the link for the painting on sale. Who follows me knows that this is the very first sale that I create for an original artwork that is not an oldie. I'm moving to a new studio, so I though it was a good idea to find soon a home to the few paintings that I still have here.

All my artworks from 2010 are sold out, I only have really a few still available, you can count them on the finger of one hand. So don't miss this chance to grab an original artwork for a steal!

New ORIGINAL Valentine ART available on Sunday 24

Hi everyone!
Are you ready for some Kitschy Valentine Sweetness? ^__^
Everything started when I decide that it was time for me to move into a new place... (yes I'm going to move again soon, but this time very very near to where I'm now LOL)
So I started to look at vintage shops to see furniture and things that I can use for my new apartment. I love the shabby-chic style, so I want to buy some nice old wood furniture and re-paint it all white, distressing it a little, just like I do with some of my frames ;) I can post some before/after pictures when I'll be working on these. I've never done it before, so I'm looking forward to see what I can do!
Anyway... looking at vintage shops, locally and also online it happened that I came across to a couple of stores that sells the most fantastic kitschy figurines and I just realized that I'm totally in LOVE with this genre. So my new Valentine Art is totally inspired by these lovely, colorful, bright, sweet, cute, happy critters! So... smiling characters for a change :)

I'm very happy to announce that all the paintings for my solo show at Swoon Gallery LA are SOLD OUT! :)

"The Book Of Fairies" ORIGINAL ART up for sale in Simona Candini Art Etsy Shop!

Hi everyone, I hope that you all are enjoying the holidays with your family and friends!

This is an original watercolor painting that I made a few years ago. I'm thinking that it can be a nice idea to add upon request a custom text on the white page of the book! :)
This painting is one of the biggest that I've ever made so far and It has a very special meaning to me. I kept it for myself and it has been hanging in my own apartment. I'm moving to a new place and I need funds to restore a part of it, adding my own studio, where I will be creating more art for the years to come. So... it's for a good cause that I've decided to depart from it and I hope it will find soon a loving forever home.
What I'm asking for this artwork is very little considering the size. It's all made with watercolors and pencils and it's very detailed and colors are vibrant. It took me many many weeks to complete it. The pictures doesn't make it justice, especially because of the glare of the glass.

The painting depicts a fairy looking out of a big window. It's Autumn and all the leaves are tainted of beautiful colors and they are falling of the trees in the wood. Also the floor of the room where the fairy stands, is covered in autumn leaves, like if the home and the wood was united, the same thing. Boundaries are imaginary, and limits are made to be passed. What is in our heart reflects on the outside, in our own reality. On the far right there is a book, with white pages: you will write your destiny, your own story. Funny tiny creatures are sleeping into glass bottles and vials, maybe little helpers for some magic that soon will happen.

This is watercolor and pencils on Fabriano Watercolor paper very thick and smooth.
Size 25"x40" (inches) unframed.

Last two shows for this year are at Modern Eden with the annual "Wanderlust" exhibition and at Clutter gallery with a Holiday Season themed show "Gift Wrapped".

Modern Eden Gallery in San Francisco, CA every year organizes this spectacular exhibition inspired by the travelling, the freedom, the wonders of wandering :) and I'm very happy to be part of it!
This show opens today (Saturday 12) at 6:00 pm and goes on until Jan 2.

Clutter Gallery in Becon, NY opens today the "Gift Wrapped Show" , also full of great artists such as Camilla D'Errico which I'm totally in love with. This is the first time that I exhibit with this gallery, so I'm super excited!

I made three miniature cameo paintings mounted on decorations for this show, featuring three colorful catwomen, along the line of my "Lucky Charms" painting :)
